 STOLEN : LEAD CISTERN Stolen from Exeter, Devon UK on 31 Mar 2010 Item : Overnight on the 31st March 2010 a lead cistern was stolen from Exeter, Devon UK. The cistern is clearly dated 1724 and lettered RS G.W.B. A double panel has a hunting scene with a deer and three hounds. Two fishes, thistles, vines, daisies, roses and two floral patterns are inscribed. Another cistern from the same location had been overturned but not stolen. The photograph is of this remaining cistern which is identical in shape and size, the design is as described above.  STOLEN : STOLEN LEAD FAUN Stolen from Petworth, West Sussex, UK on 01 April 2010 Item : Lead Faun 2.5 to 3 feet tall. It has hoofs and is holding a distinctive circular disc in each hand. The left arm is raised above its head, the other one is bent at the elbow near its waist. The wavey hair on its head is well-detailed. The lead is pale, going grey and with some birdlime marks. Recovered Details : Within 24 hours of the statue appearing on the Salvo website, a dealer telephoned Sussex Police to say that they had it. The police are investigating and we hope that the thieves will be prosecuted in due course. Thanks to the brilliant Salvo site which worked perfectly!
